Advertising in company emails

There are many ideas for advertising. But personal enthusiasm for an idea on how to advertise should be well thought out, especially in connection with electronic media:

Companies are not allowed to send unsolicited advertisements in email correspondence with their customers. The Federal Supreme Court ruled in a 16.12.2015 The court ruled in favour of a man from the Swabian town of GĂśppingen who had received advertising in the credits of an automatically generated confirmation of receipt and held out the prospect of hefty penalties for companies that did not comply (Ref.: VI ZR 134/15).

Fines of up to 250,000 euros are to be imposed.
