Newsletter marketing
Somehow I have the impression that in the "social media age" the Newsletter marketing no longer receives sufficient attention. In my opinion, it is one of the most powerful instruments of the Direct marketing.
The prerequisite for this, however, is an existing base of customers / potential customers who may be contacted by email. If these are available, then a regular emailing of Email newsletter (1 x per month or 2 x per month) an excellent opportunity to get in touch with customers.
Possible topics for a newsletter
Many may think that there is no reason for sending a newsletter. But if you think about it, there are many reasons for a newsletter, e.g.
- Information about a current offer
- Information about news from the company, industry information
- Just to say "thank you" for the great cooperation with the customers.
- You can also use an email newsletter to wish "Merry Christmas", "Happy Easter", etc.
Frequency of sending a newsletter
I claim that it should be possible at least 1 x monthly or that there should be enough info available at least 1 x monthly so that a newsletter can be sent out.
Newsletter and the informative added value
If you are not wishing your customers "Merry Christmas" or something similar, you should make sure that the content of the newsletter offers added value. In the case of promotional products, clearly highlight the USP or provide customers with information on handling a product (e.g. alternative uses).
Design the newsletter attractively and in line with the CI.
Newsletter provider
There are many online providers on the internet that make newsletter marketing easy and affordable for everyone. I personally like to use the service of rapidmail.
Rapidmail offers
- many templates for different occasions,
- the possibility to design a newsletter according to your own ideas,
- customisable speeches,
- File attachments,
- Evaluations,
- and much more.
Just google and compare the different providers.
As a newsletter plugin for WordPress I like to recommend MailPoet.
Advantages of a newsletter
In any case, sending an email newsletter is easier, faster and cheaper than sending it by post:
- Printing costs are saved,
- Manual processing (enveloping and sorting) is not required.
Of course, there is still information / notifications that should be sent by post. But to keep in regular contact with customers, a newsletter is excellent.
